Martial industrial/neo-folk project Rome was founded in Luxembourg by Jérôme Reuter in November 2005. The group's sound combines military percussion and horns with atmospheric electronic textures and ethereal acoustic guitars, as well as samples and poetic lyrics often referring to war-related topics, as well as more universal themes such as love, pain and death. In 2006, the group decided to sign with music label Cold Meat Industry, thus releasing their first EP "Berlin" and CD "Nera." The band's next album "Confessions d'un Voleur d'Ames" saw the light of day the very next year and was co-produced by Reuter and new member Confessions d'un Voleur d'Ames. They ended their cooperation with the previous mentioned label by releasing their last album "Masse Mensch Material" with them. In 2009 Nikos Mavridis joined the duo, a while later they jointly signed a contact with the German label "Trisol". The same year saw the release of their EP "To Die Among Strangers" and the acoustic album "Flowers from Exile." After the release of more albums, the triple CD "Die Æsthetik der Herrschaftsfreiheit" was added to Rome's project collection in 2011, marking Rome's return to being primarily Reuter's solo project. His last album was released in 2022, "Hegemonikon - A Jurney to the End of Light," and it's certainly songs from this disc that you can expect to hear in concert this October!
Moriah Woods has joined Rome as a support act! Those who have heard her live know that the singer's songs are dominated by her beautiful and powerful voice, which perfectly matches the emotional and independent face of the artist. Moriah will present us with her last year's album "Human", which you could hear in a live version at this year's Mystic Festival!
